Chinese families expect peaceful year-end meetings and preparations for holiday festivities as the traditional Chinese New Year approaches. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP), however, continues to persecute millions of Falun Gong practitioners in China who, along with their families, are still suffering from the pain and terror caused by kidnappings, persecution and arbitrary judicial punishment.
Falun Gong is an ancient Chinese spiritual activity known to relieve tension and increase energy, also known as Falun Dafa. It consists of simple, slow-moving exercises and teachings on the integration into daily life of the principles of honesty, compassion, and forbearance.
According to the report, there were seven Falun Gong practitioners whose deaths should be held accountable by the CCP regime.
According to a Feb. 1 article on Minghui.org, Liao Chuanjiang, a male former employee of the Sanjiang Machinery Factory, Yibin city, central China’s Hubei province, passed away on Jan. 16, at the age of 46.
In September 1994, he started to practice Falun Gong, resulting in a major change in his physical and mental well-being.
After the CCP began a violent crackdown on the party in 1999, however, his adherence to Falun Gong led him to be arrested on Dec. 4, 2005, and forced to be detained for one year. Among other tortures that gnawed away at his wellbeing, he was subjected to brainwashing sessions, forced labour, extreme beatings and sleep deprivation.
Sun Zerong, a female resident of Qiaokou City, Wuhan, Hubei Province, who died at the age of 63 on Jan. 21, 2021, is another case. According to a Feb. 2 article on Minghui.org, she was also subjected to repeated kidnappings, brainwashing, and decades of torture.
On January 13, officers from Yangjuanzi District, Panjin City, Liaoning Province, arrested Zhou Shaotang, an 83-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, for clarifying the facts about Falun Gong at a local market. Then he was taken to his home to look for Falun Dafa materials. They were met with fierce opposition from his relatives as they attempted to take him away. After a three- to four-hour face-off, the officers gave up. However, after every two or three days, they went to his home to threaten him again.
In Yushu City, Jilin Province, Falun Gong practitioners and middle school teachers have also suffered harassment from the local 610 Office and the Education Bureau since October 2020. Sun Qinghong and Wu Xiaoguang are among those teachers affected.
The Bureau of 610 is an extralegal entity formed for the sole purpose of persecuting Falun Gong. At each level of administration in the CCP, it has absolute control and its strength trumps that of all the other political and judicial organizations in China.
